Instrumented Mouthguards and Brain Health – Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.
Tom Christian, Head of Product at HIT IQ, will be delivering a keynote at Australia Sports Innovation Week (ASIW) in Melbourne on Wednesday 29th October 2025 at the MCG on this topic.
Tom has more than ten years of experience in sports technology, science, and medicine, providing valuable industry insight and practical direction. GPSports, Catapult and the Canberra Raiders have all benefited from Tom’s insights over the years. More recently as the Performance Data and Technology Lead with the Canberra Raiders.
Tom will present a unique perspective about leveraging cutting-edge technology and data to drive innovative strategies and decision making that enhance player safety and performance at both the grassroots and elite levels of contact sports.
“Brain health is the new frontier we need to manage in all sports, grassroots to elite and there is no escaping it. At HITIQ we provide world class instrumented mouthguard sensor boards, software and data solutions to provide immediate and continuous care to these markets”, said Christian.
“At HIT IQ, we’re proud to be part of the answer: helping athletes, parents, caregivers, coaches, staff, and administrators to make safer, more informed decisions around head impacts and brain health.”
From the NFL to global soccer, AFL to Rugby League, the risks of brain health are real, and the need for better solutions has never been greater.
HIT IQ with a strategic expansion that allows the delivery of an end-to-end concussion management system to the broader sporting community, is now possible through the collaboration with Shock Doctor.
ASIW will create the most valuable experience that showcases and celebrates innovation in the leadership of data, digital, content, careers, research and technology services in sport by connecting collaborators, enablers, investors, creators and partners from all cultures, backgrounds and locations.
