GLOBAL PARTNERSHIP CASE STUDIES

Collaboration and open communication is an essential part of innovation and progress within an industry, especially an industry that moves as fast a sports technology. This is why STWS believes in quality long-term partnerships, built around real relationships where both parties, and the industry as a whole, benefit from the partnership. With a variety of offerings, and a large global community, our types of partnerships and partners have varied from not-for-profits, to governments, but the one thing that links them is the open and collaborative nature of the partnerships. A selection of our partnership case studies are listed below, if you think there is a way we could partner with you then please get in touch, we would be interested to explore what’s possible.

AUSTRALIAN SPORTS TECHNOLOGIES NETWORK

The Australian Sports Technologies Network (ASTN) is a not-for-profit industry-led Australia eco-system of organisations with a vested interest in sports technology development. ASTN programs are geared to assist Australian sports technology companies to scale and commercialise their technologies into international markets and assist universities and research institutions to commercialise projects.

The STWS-ASTN partnership has been in place for a number of years, and is built around a service and knowledge sharing relationships. Examples of our past, and ongoing collaborations include developing and running multiple sports data challenges with universities and industry, hosting startup pitch sessions and showcases, mentoring and supporting ASTN startup members, providing financial benefits to ASTN members (e.g. discount Conference Tickets, Exhibits, and Sponsorships), introducing the ASTN Lifetime Achievement Award as a part of the STWS Australia & NZ Sports Tech Awards, and collaborating on industry reports.

MICROSOFT GLOBAL SPORTS INNOVATION CENTER

Global Sports Innovation Center (GSIC) is a member based organization with the primary goal of improving the value chain of the Sports Industry by leveraging the most advanced technologies, enabling business connections among startups, sports organizations, educational institutions and enterprise organizations.

At the same time, STWS is able to provide financial benefits to GSIC members (e.g. discount Conference Tickets, Exhibits, and Sponsorships).

WOMEN IN SPORT AUSTRALIA

Women Sport Australia Inc (WSA) is the peak, national, advocacy body for women in sport. They are a volunteer, not-for-profit organisation which fearlessly fights everyday for all women in all sport, on and off the field.

The STWS-WSA partnership is a very important partnership, and was born out of the need for greater focus on the vast gender gaps at all levels of sport, including within the sports technology industry. STWS works with WSA to provide benefits for their members through our events and digital networks, whilst WSA supports STWS with key introductions and advisory around women in the sports technology industry, and how STWS can support, promote, and help to close the gender gap.

JOHAN CRUIJFF ARENA

As host of AFC Ajax, the Dutch National Team, concerts of world leading artists, dance event Sensation and more, Johan Cruijff ArenA (JCA) is one of the most innovative and leading Stadiums within Europe.

The STWS-JCA partnership has helped to develop the STWS Europe Conference, and has cemented JCA as one of the most innovative stadiums in the world, particularly with regards to their focus on implementing world-class in-stadium technology, and in the way that they support startups in the stadium and events tech space. For example, JCA has been the venue for the STWS Europe Sports Tech Conference since 2018, which has also provided a platform for JCA to showcase the startups from their very own ‘Change the Game’ startup program.
