Make the most of this year’s fully virtual Australia Sports Tech Week by getting involved in some of our additional events in the lead up to the main conference! Put your technical skills to test at the Sports Tech Cup Hackathon for your chance to win big $$$; Take the time out of your week to up-skill yourself with this year’s Masterclass presented by ASTN; Participate in some of our learning specific partner workshops throughout the week; or apply for your chance to showcase your startup at our Startup Showcase!

HACKATHON

Do you have what it takes to work together to solve the problem, and take home the prize money? 

This is your chance to take on the challenge, using key data sets to answer a real-world problem and win share in the $5,000 prize pool!

It’s FREE to participate, simply register as a solo competitor or in a team (maximum 4 members). 

This years dataset will focus on Australian Football League (AFL) performance data from the 2020 season provided by official statistics provider Champion Data.

What do you need to get involved? A team of 1-4 likeminded individuals, a laptop, and an internet connection, that’s it! The Hackathon will kick off on Saturday 14th November, with the winners announced and prize money awarded during this year’s Australia Sports Tech Week (14-20th November). 

MASTERCLASS

It’s one thing wanting to take your skills and learning to the next level. It’s another to follow through and actually do it.

That’s why Australian Sports Technologies Network (ASTN) and STWS have combined to bring you a world-class educator each year as part of the ASTN Masterclass. 

As part of 2020 Australia Sports Tech Week, the ASTN have three Masterclass sessions with world class sports academics. Delivered virtually via Zoom, each session will be a deep dive into different areas of sports being affected by the continued focus on innovation and technology.

WORKSHOPS

Go deep on the topics that interest you with our FREE Partner Workshops throughout the Australia Sports Tech Week.

In 2019, there were opportunities to explore athlete performance and tracking with Catapult Sports; athlete monitoring and health with VALD Performance; and a deep dive into sports data with Empirics.  

Each session will provide you with the opportunity to learn in a smaller VIRTUAL classroom style setting.

STARTUP SHOWCASE

Build brand awareness with thought leaders in the industry, and put yourself at the forefront of the audience.

This year’s Startup Showcase is going VIRTUAL, which simply means the audience will be global, and even larger than usual!

It’s FREE to apply, and if selected your innovative and exciting young company could be presenting virtually to our Sports Tech World Series audience.

A must attend industry festival of events for those working, or interesting in the intersection of sports and technology. The week of events includes a series of free activities, that culminates with an industry wide major conference on Friday 20th November, 2020.

2020 has been a challenging year for all of us, and we wanted to create an event that could still bring the community together to connect, learn, and get excited for the future. In order to make sure this event is able to run, and is safe for all those who attend we have made it a fully virtual event. Don’t worry though, our virtual platform means that you will still be able to network and learn throughout the week.

We have created a truly interactive week, and there are opportunities to get involved no matter what your budget is.
